Halloween is my favorite holiday. It’s not that I really love dressing up and finding a costume and it’s not that I even like scary movies very much— it’s the fact that it’s the start to the holiday season. It’s colorful, it’s still nice enough to get outside, and there is anticipation in the air. I remember one Halloween when I was in high school I went to Magic Mountain for Fright Night with my boyfriend and some friends. I am a sucker for themed amusement parks and for Halloween they always did it up. There were a bunch of haunted houses and everything was decorated.
When we got back home we decided to steal pumpkins from everyone’s houses and put them all in my front yard. It was a crazy carved pumpkin field. It was pretty awesome. While I’ll leave out the part of the cops showing up after my boyfriend and his friends placed all the pumpkins across the main road after that it was a Halloween I will never forget. I will also never forget the Halloween I spent in the hospital after a car accident and totaling my best friends car. Awh memories.
I am also one for cheesy music, especially at Christmas…but a song that is fun for Halloween is “This is Halloween” from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. Here’s the song to get you in the spirit and some fun and colorful fall images to go along with it. Happy Halloween everyone! —TS
