I love Monday’s. Yes, I said it. Partially because I don’t have a regular 9 to 5 that makes me despise them, but mostly because I look at Monday’s differently than most people. Monday’s are like starting a new year every week. It’s a day to start over, get things going for the week, and make the most of it. If Monday goes right, it’s usually Friday before you know it. So today, this Monday, and every Monday, think of it differently. Wake up, get outside, get active, send emails, make phone calls and start checking off that list. It’s time to get up and go! —TS

7 years is a long time to wait, but Justin Timberlake’s The 20/20 Experience was definitely worth it. Collabing with Timbaland once again, JT’s 12 song album is nothing short of addictive. The album has the classic JT sound, like on Future Sex/Love Sounds in 2006, with a lot of beat boxing and hooks, but is an undated and sophisticated sequel with an old school good ol’ boys feel.
His first single “Suit & Tie” featuring Jay-Z is all over the radio, and his latest “Mirrors”, about his relationship with Jessica Biel, has been in rotation as well, both just recently performed on “Saturday Night Live”. Most of the songs are related to experiences with the ladies and feelings between a man and a women.
The vibe is light and fun overall, with a few slow-jam heart-felt melodies. The thing that’s really sweet about 20/20 is that a lot of the songs flow into another version of the same song. “Pusher Love Girl”, a tune about being addicted to a girl like a drug, is 8 minutes long. The last few minutes of the song are a dance-party, almost dub-steppy breakdown, much to be expected from Mr. Timberlake.
Some other standouts are “Tunnel Vision” about being drawn to a specific girl in a room full of people and the trance she has on him. “Dress On” is one of my favorites on the album. It’s definitely one of the most sensual, about finding the right girl that he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
20/20 really feels like an extension of what JT has turned into. He’s kept a familiar feel, but you definitely get a grown-up vibe in his range and style. Nothing feels forced. It seems like JT has attempted to bring sexy back, to a time where people used to get dressed up in the nine’s to go out to dinner, and all the world’s problems felt like they could be solved with a song. Mission accomplished.

Justin Timberlake hosted and performed on Saturday Night Live last week. I rarely watch SNL anymore, but JT def make it worth the watch. The Five-Timers Club skit in the beginning brought Martin Short, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Tom Hanks, Paul Simon, and many more back to the stage, and of course Andy Samberg had to make an appearance.
